Enable the keyboard

  1. Open iOS Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards.
  2. Tap Add New Keyboard and choose SlashKey.
  3. Open a text field, hold the globe key, and select SlashKey.

Try a command

Open SlashKey's “Try it” screen, switch to the SlashKey keyboard, and enter a command such as /calc (12 + 3) / 5, /convert 180cm to feet, /date, or .

Full Access

Full Access is optional. The keyboard, local commands, emoji, English suggestions, autocorrection, unit conversion, and downloaded on-device translation work without it.

Enable Full Access to use profile values saved in the SlashKey app, look up permitted Contacts with a named command, or fetch published public reference currency rates. Named contact lookup also requires separate Contacts permission. Go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → SlashKey, then turn on Allow Full Access.

Profile commands show no result

Open SlashKey → Settings → Your Profile. Enter values manually or choose a contact, review the imported fields, and tap Save. Then confirm Full Access is enabled for the keyboard. Bare commands such as /name use this saved profile. To search another person, allow Contacts access in SlashKey Settings and use a command such as /address John. Limited Contacts permission searches only the contacts you permit.

Translation needs a language download

Open SlashKey → Settings → Translation Languages and prepare the requested Apple-supported language pair. Translation availability varies by device, language pair, and downloaded Apple models.

SlashKey is missing from a field

iOS uses the system keyboard in secure text fields. Individual apps can also disable third-party keyboards. This is expected system behavior.

Currency conversion is unavailable

Published reference rates require Full Access and a working internet connection. SlashKey sends only the source and target currency codes; the amount is calculated on your device. Rates may not match a bank or card issuer.

Compatibility

SlashKey requires iOS or iPadOS 27.0 or later and supports iPhone and iPad.
